About GDC

Built around people.
Growing with
the need.

GDC is a St. Louis-based, Black woman-owned hybrid mental wellness practice supporting clients, companies, and clinicians through counseling, coaching, and consulting.

What began as a virtual counseling practice has grown into multiple pathways of support rooted in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and inclusive care.

We believe healing is personal, support should be thoughtful, and every path forward deserves care that honors the whole person.

Our Story

A vision that
keeps evolving.

Our story is one of listening, growing, and responding to what people, workplaces, and communities need in order to heal and thrive.

2016

An Idea Takes Shape

The vision begins around reducing stigma, modernizing mental health support, using technology intentionally, and expanding access for Black and historically underserved communities.

2017

A Fully Virtual Beginning

GDC officially launches as a solo, fully virtual counseling practice before virtual mental health care becomes commonplace.

Early Growth

A Group Practice Takes Shape

The need grows beyond one clinician and GDC begins building a diverse group practice grounded in representation, quality care, and collaboration.

2020

Connection in a Changing World

Existing telehealth expertise allows GDC to continue supporting clients while also helping professionals adapt to rapidly changing virtual-care needs.

Expanding Access + Impact

Identifying Gaps & Creating Support

GDC continues identifying gaps in care, including reduced-cost support (The Access Initiative), education, clinician development, and community-based wellness opportunities.

2022 & beyond

Responding to Needs Beyond the Session

GDC expands beyond therapy as burnout, workplace wellbeing, trauma exposure, leadership needs, clinician sustainability, and organizational wellness become increasingly visible.

Our Values

What guides and grounds us

Community & Support

No one heals in isolation. We build spaces where connection is possible.

Diversity & Inclusion

We celebrate the full spectrum of the human experience.

Access & Equity

Mental wellness shouldn’t be a luxury. We actively work to close the gap.

Education & Development

Growth is ongoing for our clients, our partners, and our team.

The People Behind GDC

Different Experiences.
Shared Commitment.

GDC brings together clinicians, educators, leaders, and helping professionals with different specialties, lived experiences, professional paths, and ways of connecting.

What we share is a commitment to thoughtful, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and inclusive support that recognizes the whole person.

There is no single way to connect, heal, grow, or lead. Our team reflects that.

Clinical Team

Compassionate care, grounded in connection.

Our therapists bring their own personalities, specialties, and approaches to care while sharing a commitment to creating spaces where clients feel respected, understood, and supported.

Join the Team

A workplace that makes room
for the person behind the role.

People doing helping work deserve support too. At GDC, healthy boundaries, professional growth, and opportunities to use clinicians’ strengths beyond an intense therapy schedule matter. Person-first leadership should influence our internal culture, and we aim to model internally what we teach externally.

“Supporting the people who care for others is part of the work.”

Before You Apply

We welcome applications on a rolling basis. Because we hire in response to caseload needs, submitting an application may not correspond with an immediate opening. Applicants who appear aligned with GDC may be added to our Talent Community and prioritized for outreach when relevant opportunities become available.

We also serve as a field practicum site for graduate-level social work students attending accredited programs in and around the Greater St. Louis area. Students should be entering their final practicum experience and be prepared to make a two-semester commitment.

To complete your application, please be prepared to submit:

  • A current résumé or CV
  • A short video introduction

Your video does not need to be professionally produced. A recording from your phone is perfectly fine. If the video file is too large to upload through the application, you may email a shareable link to admin@gdcwellnessservices.com.

We look forward to learning more about you and your interest in joining GDC.
