How I Can HelpSupport That Makes Room for Your Whole Experience

You may be carrying anxiety, fear, self-criticism, or the emotional impact of living within systems that do not always feel safe, fair, or affirming. You may understand what is weighing on you but still feel unsure about how to loosen its hold. Or perhaps you have spent so much time surviving, adapting, or caring for others that you have lost touch with what you need.

My name is Taylor Harvey, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in Missouri. My story is rooted in community, creativity, and curiosity. I work with clients who want to understand themselves more deeply, make space for their emotions, and find ways of living that feel more authentic, sustainable, and free.

I empathize deeply with experiences of anxiety, injustice, self-criticism, and fear. These feelings can show up in many ways—overthinking, perfectionism, shame, exhaustion, difficulty trusting yourself, or feeling as though you must constantly prepare for what might go wrong.

In our work together, we may explore how your experiences, relationships, identity, environment, and internal patterns affect the way you feel and move through the world.

You do not need to arrive with a clear plan. We can begin with what feels most present and build the path together.

What Therapy With Me Is LikeCollaborative, Curious, and Grounded in Mutual Respect

I do not see myself as the expert on your mind or your life. I also do not believe therapy, as a field, holds every answer.

I believe people have an immense capacity for healing and growth within themselves. My role is to help create a safe, steady bridge between you and the knowledge, resources, and internal space you need to access that capacity.

Therapy with me is collaborative, curious, flexible, and grounded in mutual respect. I will follow your lead while also helping you notice patterns, make connections, and consider possibilities that may be difficult to see when you are carrying everything alone.

I believe each of us is trying to find a way to be okay in a world that is increasingly difficult to be okay in. Unburdening ourselves from some of that weight—and finding new ways to move forward—can be an act of healing and resistance. I am honored to stand alongside you in that process.

“

My goal as I partner with you on your wellness journey is to be an ally in your self-discovery and healing.

My Approach to CounselingFlexible Care Shaped Around You

My clinical approach is shaped by the person sitting in front of me.

Different strategies work for different people, different minds, and different nervous systems. Rather than expecting you to fit into one therapeutic model, I draw from several approaches and adapt our work based on your needs, preferences, values, and goals.

The approaches I use most often include Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems can help you understand the different “parts” of yourself that may hold fear, anger, criticism, protectiveness, or pain. Instead of judging or trying to eliminate these parts, we become curious about what they are trying to communicate and what they may need.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can help you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions. We may focus on identifying what matters most to you and taking meaningful action toward those values, even when discomfort is present.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy offers practical tools for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, improving relationships, and responding more intentionally during challenging moments.

I integrate pieces of these approaches rather than applying them rigidly. Together, we will identify what resonates, what does not, and what supports the kind of healing and growth you want to experience.

A Little More About MeThe Person Within the Therapist

My Story

Why I Chose the Mental Health Field

I was drawn to therapy because I believe people often already carry much of the wisdom they need within themselves, even when pain, fear, trauma, or difficult circumstances make that wisdom harder to access.

Therapy can provide the safety, connection, language, and room needed to uncover what has been buried or overlooked. I value being able to walk alongside people as they better understand themselves, release some of what they have been carrying, and discover possibilities that feel more aligned with who they are.

For me, this work is not about fixing people. It is about supporting people as they reconnect with their own capacity for healing, growth, choice, and change.

Beyond the Therapy Room

The Person Within the Therapist

Outside of counseling, I enjoy walking and hiking with my dogs, spending time outdoors, making art, and doing crafts. I also enjoy cooking—although eating may be my favorite part—playing video games, drinking tea, eating chocolate, and scrolling TikTok.

Creativity, nature, humor, food, and connection are some of the things that help me feel grounded and make life feel fuller.
